Steelpark Trading Estate, Wolverhampton

Steelpark Trading Estate

The Steelpark site had been undeveloped for many years.  Previous planning permissions had not been implemented and the site was overgrown and marshy.  The site is also adjacent to a nature reserve where there is a population of great crested newts, a European protected species.

Goold Estates bought the site in September 2016 and, in conjunction with the planning application, worked with Natural England to use the new national guidelines on newt licensing.  The work with Natural England resulted in ecological improvements in the adjacent nature reserve and meant no delays to starting on site.

The  speculative development is 70,000 square feet of industrial and warehouse units, part-funded by the West Midland Combined Authority Collective Investment Fund.

The development was completed in January 2018 and has attracted a lot of new occupiers to the area.  See steel-park.co.uk for more information and availability.
