Goold Estates agrees pair of lease renewals at fully let industrial estate

Property investment and development company, Goold Estates has agreed two lease renewals totalling almost 12,000 sq ft at a fully let industrial estate in Brierley Hill.

Biogas and wastewater experts, Biogas Products Ltd has completed a new three-year lease on a 7,828 sq ft unit at Cookley Wharf Industrial Estate, where it has been based since 2011.

Engine rebuilding service, Van Engine Services Ltd has also committed its future to the estate by signing a five-year lease extension on a 3,911 sq ft industrial warehouse unit.

The lease renewals follow a refurbishment of both properties, including external decoration and new tenant boards, as well as extensive improvements to car parking and access roads, and a new sliding gate to the estate.

Goold Estates recently completed a 10-unit redevelopment of a former steel manufacturing plant at Cookley Wharf Industrial Estate, to create smaller units for businesses relocating or expanding their operations. All units are fully occupied, with the majority let prior to completion of the refurbishment works.

Anthony Williams, property director at Goold Estates, said: “We’re very pleased to have secured lease renewals with two long-term tenants at Cookley Wharf Industrial Estate. The lease renewals illustrate the strength of the relationships we have forged with our tenants and their continued satisfaction with the estate.

“Cookley Wharf Industrial Estate was 38% vacant when we acquired the property in 2008, so it’s particularly satisfying to be once again at full occupancy, following significant investment in the refurbishment and redevelopment of the estate, which provides good quality premises suitable for a range of occupiers in manufacturing, storage and distribution.”

Cookley Wharf Industrial Estate fronts the busy Leys Road and is located approximately two miles west of Brierley Hill town centre and Merry Hill shopping centre. The A4101 Dudley Southern Bypass is within three miles of the estate, which leads to the A4123 New Birmingham Road and junction 2 of the M5 motorway network.
