Community Round-Up: Goold Estates supports The Good Shepherd in Wolverhampton

Goold Estates proudly supports The Good Shepherd (TGS), a charity serving the Wolverhampton community since 1972. Originally a night shelter founded by the Little Brothers of the Good Shepherd, TGS now employs 20 staff and works with 60 volunteers to provide vital support to people experiencing homelessness.

Each day, keyworkers offer essentials such as hot showers, clean clothing, and access to longer-term support. TGS also provide daily lunches for anyone facing financial hardship due to unemployment, mental health issues, addiction, or social isolation.

The charity runs support groups to boost mental health, confidence, and community integration. TGS also offers housing and employment advice, continuing support even after individuals are rehoused. Services run year-round, including Christmas Day, ensuring no one is left alone during the holidays.

Sue Hanley, charities manager, said: “This is not just a charity that helps people survive — it gives them the tools to truly thrive.”
